Certification Nation – Will Kansas City Make the Cut?

The EPA recently announced that it is having a special recognition of ENERGY STAR rated buildings to celebrate the 15th anniversary of its certification program. With the work of the City Energy Project, Kansas City is well positioned to have many buildings gain certification by the December 12 deadline.

The EPA reports that more than 24,000 commercial and industrial properties have achieved ENERGY STAR certification over the last 15 years. These buildings have achieved more than $3 billion in cost savings. That type of savings should get the attention of business owners who are always looking to lower their overhead.

In fact, certification is one of goals set forth in Mayor Sly James’ Energy Challenge. So, Kansas City, will you step up to the plate? The CEP is here to help you!
